Metzger’s work directing marketing and public relations, often working directly with lawmakers, has built a unique expertise in effective communication strategies that build connections across boundaries. With a guiding belief that the best stories are those we are living, Metzger’s career has encompassed her passion to tell the stories of the issues close to her heart, her most recent work focusing on issues and policies impacting education, tourism, and hospitality, with a focus on reforming alcohol laws to cultivate legislation supporting North Carolina’s flourishing craft beverage industry – and all of those who enjoy its fruits. 

In 2018, Metzger created MKM Communications to share her expertise, drawing on her 15 years of experience that includes serving as marketing director at Our State, executive director of the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild, PR Director for VisitNC, and executive director of the North Carolina Wine & Grape Council. Through her work at MKM Communications, Metzger and her associates work with a range of clients to provide comprehensive consulting services, outlining and building holistic communications strategies that enable clients to more effectively tell their stories. A passionate advocate for all things North Carolina and lover of biscuits, bicycles, and, of course, beverages, Metzger resides in Raleigh with her husband Ken, their two children, seven chickens, and one dog.
